Ten political prisoners on strike in Tehran’s Evin Prison


According to published reports inside Iran, ten political prisoners held in solitary confinement in ward 240 of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison have launched a hunger strike, protesting the prison officials’ refusal to return them to the general ward 350. They started this hunger strike on Monday.

Reports indicate each of the ten prisoners have been placed under intense pressure and they are even deprived of their daily time for fresh air. The physical conditions of a number of these prisoners is reported as critical.
