Iranian Kurdish political prisoner Ghadriye Ghadri, 26, has recently been transferred to the women’s ward in Yassuj Prison along with ordinary criminals. She is also under pressure from the prison authorities, harassed and constantly kept under control. Ghadri was arrested by security forces in the city of Urumieh back in June 2010.
She was under interrogation and beaten constantly for over two months while detained in solitary confinement at the Urumieh Intelligence Department detention center. The agents’ beatings were so severe that when she was being transferred to Urumieh Central Prison she wasn’t able to walk or eat for two weeks, reports indicate. This Kurdish political prisoner is charged with disruption national security and the mullahs’ regime has sentenced her to 10 years behind bars.
